A couple of weeks ago I posted a great summary from the Austin Business Journal of many reports and rankings from the previous year, touting the many strengths of the Austin metro area:
Lifestyle, culture, economy, climate and environment — Austin has been widely recognized as a wonderful place to be.
I have also written a number of times during the recession about the fact that Texas generally, and Austin specifically, have continued to create jobs and to attract company relocations. Those factors have been important in keeping the Austin-area housing market on the move and helping to hold values stable through a difficult time in the national economy.
Now, Forbes has released its ranking of the best cities for jobs, and Austin is ranked #1 for the second consecutive year:
Equally impressive is that 4 of the Top 5 cities in that ranking are in Texas:
